Dear Christian Friends,

"If my people will humble themselves and pray and search for me and turn from their wicked ways. I will hear them from heaven and FORGIVE their sins and heal their land."
Chronicles 7: 14

Please participate in this 40 Days of Prayer for our election and our nation!!

Notice the Scripture above talks about us as Christians turning from our wicked ways.......not the ungodly.

Pray daily!

I wanted to reach out to my prayer warriors and ask for prayer.  A lady that works with us has a beautiful grand baby who is 2 and her name is Kelly.  Kelly was diagnosed yesterday with Wilms tumor, a tumor that is in her kidney and it was formed in the womb.  The tests revealed that the cancer is already Stage 5.  The doctors did exploratory surgery today and decided not to take the tumor.  This is the update that we received just before I went to lunch:

Kelly had a biopsy and a port installed in surgery, but they were not able to do more surgery because of an attachment to some arteries.  Their plan now is to begin chemo and hope to shrink the tumor to a point where surgery will be possible.

Please pray for Kelly and her mom and dad and Sandi, her grandmother.  This little girl is beautiful with long curly brown hair and beautiful eyes.  Kassie got an email from one of her prayer warriors that said this is a great time for God to show up and show out.  I believe that this child will be healed for God's glory.  None of these people go to church, so it's very important for us to pray for all of them.   thanks for the prayers.

Update: Kelly update from 10/24  She was loosing blood after the biopsy:

Kelly is doing good this morning. They said the internal bleeding has quit they believe. After giving her transfusion her count was 31.  They said sometimes they don't make blood on own after having surgery. This morning it is up to 32. Normal is 35 so she is getting there. So hopefully she is on the mend from surgery & will have a good day.
Herb has been battling cancer for a time but has been in remission but now his cancer numbers are up so he needs our prayers

Jerry has gotten a very serious infection in his knee, in which he has had surgery. Please pray for him

Kally a high school student here in Springdale, has leukemia and just recently went through a bone marrow transplant and is now in intensive care.   Kally has fluid on her lungs,  her respiration is shallow and at 70 per minute.  She is on oxygen with a saturation of 96% to 98%.  Her liver levels have never returned to normal.  She threw up all last night. Her face and legs are swollen.  Please pray a special prayer for her and her family.

Joan has cancer, please remember her in prayer.
Eleanor Rose, who at 7 months old was diagnosed with 'bilateral retinoblastoma' on June 13, 2007. We were referred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She went through a week of examinations and tests to determine that the cancer had not spread beyond both eyes, and what course of treatment she would begin.

On June 26, 2007, she began her first round of chemotherapy, with five more rounds to follow. She has handled the first round very well, though her eating and sleeping habits have changed; her hair is beginning to fall out. Some days are better than others, though it isn't always easy to know how she is feeling.
Tuesday, July 17, 2006 we will go back to St. Jude's for round two of chemo.
As for the rest of the family, our oldest daughter, Isabelle Anderson 'Fairy Girl' (as she likes to be called), has been having a great time spending it with her grandmothers Nona and JuJu. Clayton and I have been taking it one day at a time, while educating ourselves about this type of cancer and the treatments that are available.
We know that God is with us, and he hears all of our prayers.      http://www.nwanews.com/nwat/News/69680/
A little 2 year old boy named Trace is in trouble, he was diagnosed with Leukemia last December but has been in remission for several months.

He has gotten very sick again. His blood count and platelets have all dropped dangerously low and they can't seem to get them up. Please pray for a miracle!

Jim Fulfer has a malignant tumor in his pancreas.

Update 9-30 The news is not good, but I'm still praying and have faith things are going to get better. The prognosis given to him yesterday floored me a bit, for it was worse than originally thought. Without surgery, he has 3-6 months to live. With surgery and they get all of the cancer (20% chance) he will be fine, with surgery and they are unable to get it all, he has 18 months. As you know, we are all pretty devastated right now, but I know God is in control, and if it is his will, he will heal him. Please continue to pray for him and all of us as we make it through this. He will be having surgery October 22nd. Thank you! Audra

Update Oct 23

Jim had surgery yesterday for Pancreatic Cancer and they were not able to get it all.  They will be starting Chemo and Radiation probably after he gets home and he has to be at Mayo for 10 days after surgery.  Audra is flying home tomorrow so please remember this part of our family in prayer!  They are not giving a good prognosis for Jim,  BUT we serve a BIG God!!!

Ted is having some very serious health issues.

Katie is 3 years old and her battle with cancer began Saturday, June 21, 2008.  She told her mommy that she had a 'tummy ache' and she wanted to lay down and take a nap.  She did not have any energy the rest of the day nor did she want to eat.  Sunday, June 22, 2008, she again complained of a 'tummy ache'.  Katie's mom, Stacie,  felt her stomach and noticed a large lump.  She was fearful that Katie may have a hernia so she took her to the doctor the following Monday morning.

The doctor on duty called in the head of pediatrics to examine Katie to confirm his fears.  The head of pediatrics called them all to his office and gave them the bad news.  He told them that he felt with a 90% surety that it was cancer.  He then said a prayer with this family and immediately referred Katie to the Children's Hospital at the Medical University of South Carolina .  Tuesday morning, Katie underwent a barrage of tests including blood work and CT Scans.  This confirmed her diagnosis.

The tumor is so large that it is pressing on her stomach, kidneys, lungs, and intestine.  This tumor cannot be removed until she has undergone chemotherapy to try to shrink it so that it can be safely removed without harming her.  Friday morning, June 26, 2008, Katie will have the first of many surgeries to biopsy the tumor and place a Port-A-Cath for the administration of the chemotherapy.  Her battle with cancer is just beginning.

Update  Cheryl had a mastectomy Wed Sept 3rd, the doctor was very optimistic but please keep her in your prayers.

Please pray for Cheryl's recovery from surgery and for the healing needed from the surgery.  Also, pray for the next scheduled regimen of chemo. that she will be taking - that she will be able to tolerate the treatment and that the treatment will be effective in killing those cancer cells.   To God be the glory, great things He has done.

Latest Update on Cheryl: Good Morning Sweet Family, Thank you for your prayers for Cheryl. God is taking care of her in ways we do not see or understand.
Here is an update:
Good news - Her cancer cells are down from 167 to 92. The tumor is small enough that they are removing it on September 3rd. When they began her treatment, they did not know if the chemo. would even work, and there was a chance that it could even make this type of cancer worse. Well, it is working and the cancer is dying. God is working, and the cancer is dying.
Tough news - there are cancer spots on the bone - on the skull, spine sternum, and hip. God is a big God. He can stop the spread!
Please pray for the surgery next week, and for peace for Cheryl. Also pray for her bones, and that these spots will miraculously disappear - to God be the glory.
Love you all!

Update regarding bone test:  We just heard from the Dr. with results from the Ct & bone scan taken Monday.  They show that the cancer cells on the bone are dying. This is very good news.  Dr. Hagens, her surgeon is very pleased with the progress that has been made.  It is beyond his expectations, and we know that can be attributed to prayer and our wonderful Lord.  Thank you all again for your love and support, please continue to pray for her as she goes into surgery next week and the weeks to follow that these treatments will continue to be successful and her body will be responsive.  She has been through tremendous stress these past few days waiting for the results from these scans.  Our love to you all and much praise to God the Father and God the Son.  God bless you all.

Cheryl  will be having a biopsy Friday on a mass the doctors feel pretty certain is malignant.  Please pray not only her, but for her husband and family.  Cheryl is a Christian.

Update:   Just to give you an update on yesterdays findings.  The biopsy shows cancer.  However, the Dr. feels it has been found soon enough that it is curable with treatment.  They did further  testing yesterday to determine whether it has spread anywhere else.  We will have the results of those tests Monday.  The Dr. said it would have been better if it had been caught sooner, but he still feels it is early enough he is optimistic about it. Please continue to uphold her and David in prayer. We are praying for an optimistic report the cancel cells are contained.  We know the battle has just    begun, but I believe 1Sam:17:47 when David went out to meet the Philistine (a symbol of Satan) David said I come against you in the name of Lord Almighty – the BATTLE IS THE LORDS AND HE  WILL DELIVER. Our faith in God is our victory and I can do ALL things through Christ Jesus – AMEN.  Well, it’s gonna be shoutin’ time in glory because Satan does not stand a chance against the  army of the Lord. Hallelujah!!  ( from Cheryl: "it's like every prayer that is being prayed for me is felt in my soul -- I really feel the Lord's presence and peace today.")

Update: Thank you so much for your love and prayers.  Positive support is so very important just now.   Cheryl had her first chemo treatment Tuesday.  It has made her very ill.  David took her to the hospital last night and they kept her to administer blood transfusion and try to get her hemoglobin to the level it needs to be for her body to combat this  invasion of her body.  The results of all those tests they ran show the cancer to be more advanced than the preliminary results showed.  It has not entered any of the soft tissue,    but it has attached to the bone—not in the marrow.  It is going to be a rough battle for her, so please continue to lift her up in prayer.  We know our God is a God of miracles and we continue to trust in Him for a divine intervention. David also needs your prayer.

Update: the treatments are making Cheryl very ill, the Chemo she is taking is called Red Devil, very strong, please keep her in your prayers!

Update: From her mother: God is truly an awesome and loving God!  I have Cheryl this week to care for her after her chemo treatment.  She is ill, but does not seem to be      quite as ill as she was after the last treatment.  Of course, today and tomorrow will be the worst days, but we are trying to stay on top of it.  She got a good report from her surgeon yesterday.  He told her the tumor is shrinking, so the chemo is working.  She will have to take one Red Devil treatment, then he will try to switch her to a milder form;  we will pray it works well also. It won’t make her quite so ill.  Thank you all for your love and prayers.  God bless you.

Update:  Cheryl is having her last Red Devil Chemo this week, please pray that it won't make her so sick.

Update: (7-15)from Cheryl

My precious family and friends
I wanted to send you and email asap and let you know the latest on my doctors updates.  Had a blood test last week to measure the level of cancer in my body, and it has been reduced by almost a third.  The CA-15 number was 163 on May 18th, and on July 1st, it was down to 102.  Normal is 20, but the fact the the number is significantly reduced is very encouraging-- that means the chemo is working.  The doctors were both very pleased with those numbers.  They told me that sometimes the drugs don't work, or they even make it worse, so they have to then figure out something else to do.  So, Praise the Lord!!  We are on the right path.  Dr. Baltz (oncologist) wants to do one more red devil (the bad one) next week because it is working so well, so I said lets go for it.  ( I was only supposed to have 4, but we are doing 5) After that, we will switch to something else -- the cancer cells are able to quickly adjust to medication and become resistant, so they need to switch before that happens.  I saw Dr Hagans today (surgeon) and he was very pleased with the numbers, and he said  clinically he could see and feel a signifcant reduction in the size of the tumor.  He also said the lymph nodes were definitely smaller, and some of them he couldn;t feel anymore. HALLELUJAH!  I am scheduled for a bone scan on August 25th, so we will see then is the places that are metastacized on my bones are reduced.  I am praising God in advance for a good result on that.
So, thank you for your prayers -------- I couldn't do this without the support and prayers of my family and of my family of God.

Just wanted to share this good news with the ones I love.  Thank you again for all your prayers, phone calls, cards, gifts, and everything you have done for me.  Everytime I hear from one of you, it encourages me, and gives me peace knowing that you are thinking of me and praying for me.  I have true peace in my heart the I will become completely well when this is all over.  I love you all with all my heart.
Cheryl

Update: Cheryl had her last Red Devil chemo this past week.  She is staying with me and is a pretty sick little girl.  She saw her surgeon last week, and he was very pleased with the progress that had been made.  Surgery is scheduled for Sept 3 at !2:00 noon.  She has to be off all chemo for 3 weeks before they can perform the surgery.  She does not know what type treatment she will need to take after the surgery.  Please continue to keep her and David & Tiffany in your prayers.  We do love and appreciate all of you so very much, words are truly inadequate.  Thank you dear family and friends, and thanks to our Heavenly Father

Duane is 56 years old.  He has a hole in the bottom of his foot from staff infection. The hole now has spread in two different directions. He has been going for treatments
every day. He is a diabetic and they are putting him into the hospital Monday and they have mentioned foot amputation. Several years ago he had an eye infection, caused from birds, and it left scars on the back of his eyes that caused him to go blind. This was not diabetic related. Almost a year ago he had to have one of his big toes removed.  He needs prayer  both spiritually and physically. I know my God can take care of this problem. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Hello to all of our prayer warriors,
I just want to thank you so much for praying for Richard.  This morning he said that he can tell that he is beginning to feel better from this MS exacerbation.  His hands are not burning so much, but have faded to tingling.  His legs and stomach are also beginning to have more feeling. We are praying for the numbness to continue to fade and his strength to increase.  Thank you so much for praying.  We know and trust in God's faithfulness.
 2 Corinthians 4:16, 5:7, 12:7-10
Matthew  relapsed back into a rare and harsh leukemia several weeks ago. He's 15 years old.  He's working SO HARD to get into remission so that he may try to find another bone marrow donor and have his 2nd transplant.   please, if you don't mind lift him up in prayer...

Only recently did this woman learn she has cancer, and just now when my friend called to check on her, was told that she's dying now.  All I know is that her name is Luz, and she and her loved ones need our prayers.  Thanks, and God bless you all for caring!
Laurel,  has been VERY ill.  She was bitten by a tick and ended up on Life Support at the Med Center in LR about a month ago. As of now she still can't speak and has much difficulty in walking. She caught pneumonia after she returned from the Med Center and ended up in the hospital here. The Dr. thinks she might have had a stroke while on life support.  The scope they did on her throat came back just fine. She had a MRI on Thursday and they will get the results of that on Tuesday.  Please keep her in your prayers. She is having a hard time not being discouraged.
Rob is having some very serious health problems please pray for him and his family.

Jessica, a young mother, has had a brain aneurysm yesterday at work and was flown to Springfield, MO.  From what I understand, she is currently on life support.  They are still unable to stabilize her so they have not been able to go in to see how extensive the damage was.

Update: Jessica has been stabilized and they are hoping to get her in surgery today to release some pressure from her brain.  Because of the pressure, she has lost complete eyesight to one of her eyes.  I have also been told that the trauma was to the left side which means she will lose her motor ability as well as her speech (not sure to what extent it will be).  The DR's say that she can relearn all of that but right now they are just focusing on keeping her alive and doing things that will help give her the best quality of life that she can have.

Again, keep praying for her and her family!

Update:  GREAT news!  I just talked to the family about 30 minutes ago.  They removed her breathing tube.  The doctor said it would probably be 24-48 hours before she would even be able to communicate.  I guess right after they removed it, the nurse came running out yelling for the family to come in there.  Jessica was TALKING!!!  She asked where she was at, how long she had been there, and what happened.  They did explain that she had been there since Monday and that it was Friday.  They also explained to her what happened.  When Shane walked into the room she started crying.  She told the nurse to get this **stuff** off her, she wants to go home!!!

Urgent prayer request for my brother JD who has had a stroke. He needs a miracle!

Update:  Prayers are working and JD is working so hard to regain his strength and the ability to walk on his own.

Update: J.D. is gaining strength everyday!  He is walking with his walker! Thank you for your prayers they are working!!

Caleb, a ten year old little boy who loves to play baseball with his brothers and friends has been diagnosed with a brain stem tumor.                                                                            His mother just got over treatment for breast cancer this past year.

Update: Caleb had an MRI for radiation planning. His tumor is smaller than when radiation began, so it is responding to the radiation as hoped. Please keep praying for a miracle for Caleb. Please pray specifically that the tumor will not begin to grow again after radiation is completed. Or, even better, that the tumor will be completely obliterated and no longer present after radiation! However God chooses to do this miracle, we will be so thankful and will never stop giving Him the glory for it.

Update: Dear Linda, I wanted to let you know how all the prayers are helping Caleb so much! He was able to participate in his Spring Festival at school. This is the 52nd year and they still “wind the Maypole” which is no easy thing! He is dealing well with nerve pain in his hands and fingers caused by the radiation. His family is a phenomena of strength, with complete trust and reliance on God. On their carepage.com I told them they now have even more people praying for him/them. Thank you and God Bless. Sheryl

Micah age 25 is battling cancer and it has shown up in his lymph glands. He needs a miracle!

Jacob has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.  Basically his heart walls are too thick causing extreme pressure inside his heart. The doctors are concerned about the level of pressure inside his heart. The pressure has gone from severe and manageable with medicine to very severe.  The doctors at the children’s hospital here and at Mayo clinic have recently told me that he will need surgery soon.  The problem is he is so young.  This surgery (myectomy) has not been performed on a two year old at Arkansas Children’s before.  Mayo clinic has not done it much either from what I gather.  The doctors have put him on a new medicine to try to see if that will help alleviate some pressure.  They plan on taking another look at his heart in about two months to see if the medicine has helped, if it has they will keep him on it until he is three and then do the surgery.  If it doesn’t help he will have the surgery soon after the check-up.

Jeannie is undergoing Chemo for breast cancer, please pray for strength. She is such a prayer warrior and this time she needs our prayers.

Update from Jeannie:

I only have 3 more treatments and have been doing great. I've gotten really stiff in my joints and have a hard time getting down and back up,

but I'm praising the Lord that I am not in constant pain like I know many people are with arthritis and other problems like that.

LaVonne  our dear friend who is battling cancer is now celebrating 4 years since her diagnosis. The doctors prognosis was "less than twelve months."! Please pray for continued daily     strength for her and her family.
James Earl  has lung cancer and is doing well with all the treatments. He has one more big Chemo, pray that the cancer has been killed. He is a Christian.

Nicholas Update: Our appointment this morning at Duke was much more positive than we have gotten to this point.  First the Dr. said that this type of tumor and its location have in his experience always turned out to be benign.  He also said that it is very small and went as far to say that there is a 90% probability that it will never cause any problems.  If it does grow he would have to do a procedure to re-route to brain fluid.  He said this is a common procedure and usually doesn’t cause problems.  The next steps are to monitor the tumor through periodic MRI’s starting with one in 3 months.  Thanks for all your prayers, thoughts, and support.

Adam Wright.
Thank you for your continuing prayers for Adam.  As you may remember, 4 year-old Adam was taken to Children's Hospital in Little Rock, where doctors confirmed that he does    have cancer.  They also found spots in his lungs and on his arm.  He came home with a port.  The family will return to Little Rock tomorrow 5/14 to begin treatment.  Adam has a  twin brother and an older brother in Kindergarten.  Adam's parents, Tammie and Jamie, have been trying to explain everything to the children.  It is hard for them to comprehend.  Please pray for Adam's healing and hold this precious Christian family in your prayers. Pray for GOD's Hand upon the parents and each child to guide their lives in every way, to provide their every need as only HE can do.   In Christ, Sherry Slinkard
Carter a little 8 or 9 years old boy, was injured really bad a few years ago in a car wreck. He is now an invalid and has to have everything done for him.  He has spasms in his back from the brain and back injuries, they have been trying to put in a pump in his back to keep him from the spasms and have not been able to because his blood isn't clotting well. They have tried it now I think at least 4 maybe 6 or more times and each time they get him on IV and do all the prep work than aren't able to go thru with it. I know they are broken hearted that he cannot get the relief that he needs and it's been going on so long. Could you put him on the prayer list? We need a multitude of people praying that they will be able to put the pump in the next time they schedule it.
